Wharf cellars, bollards and new build: access in Utrecht

Moving with a moving lift in the Utrecht city centre
In the old centre the stairs are steep and the turns are tight, so a wardrobe or a sofa often has to go through the window with our own moving lift. You generally need one from the second floor upwards.

If you are moving to the Netherlands for the first time and will stay longer than four months, you register in the Personal Records Database and receive your citizen service number, the BSN. Staying for less than four months? Then you can request a BSN through the Non-residents Records Database instead. Bring a valid passport, and a rental or purchase contract for your new address. If you are moving in with someone, you also need a signed consent form from the main occupant with a copy of their ID.
Already living in the Netherlands and moving again?
Many internationals arrive in a temporary flat and move to a permanent home within a year or two. If you move to a different municipality, you only register with the new one: it automatically deregisters you from the old one. You never have to deregister yourself, unless you are leaving the country.
